Policewoman Jailed After Making False Allegation Against Male Colleague
34-year-old Lauren Evans (pictured left) - until recently a Police Constable with the "institutionally-corrupt" Metropolitan Police - has been sent to prison for perverting the course of justice. In March of 2023, Evans had claimed that she was sexually assaulted by a plain-clothes police officer in an unmarked car after she was stopped whilst driving to work, explaining that this was why she was late in arriving. Evans falsely stated that her assailant was named "Watson", resulting in innocent P.C. Alex Watson - whom Evans had never met - being arrested the next day. Watson was apprehended in front of his wife (also a Police Officer) and children after returning home from a wedding, subsequently spending 23 hours in custody, before it became clear that Watson had happened to be driving an unmarked car in the area at the time, and Evans had completely made up the allegations, as she had not been stopped at all. Watson, clearly traumatised by this fallacious accusation against him after 30 years of service in the Metropolitan Police, said in a statement: "To make up an allegation of this nature I find disgraceful. I was treated like a violent criminal.", and that he "felt betrayed and let down by the organisation." In January this year, a disciplinary hearing - which was not attended by Evans - dismissed her from the Police Force for discreditable conduct, and also placed her on the College of Policing Barred List - meaning she will never be able to work for any police force again. On March 2nd, 2026 - at Southwark Crown Court in South London - Lauren Evans - from Maidstone in Kent - was sentenced to 12 months in jail. More about the case can be seen HERE, HERE, and also on X HERE where the comments are interesting to read.
